The Chordsmen

directed by Rich Lapp

The Boise Valley Chordsmen is a 40-man chorus of performers who love to sing four-part a cappella selections in a variety of musical styles including Broadway, gospel, barbershop, doo-wop and jazz. The chorus performs frequently throughout the Treasure Valley, and donates much of its proceeds to charities such as the Salvation Army, the Boise Rescue Mission, and Saint Alphonsus Foundation. For over 10 years we have sponsored the Idaho Youth Barbershop Festival. This past year we hosted over 1,000 students in the Morrison Center under the direction of the “godfather of a cappella’ Deke Sharon. A few years ago the chorus made a commitment to constant improvement of its vocal technique, musicianship, and overall presentation value. We love to sing exceptionally well and genuinely entertain. We are a close brotherhood, and we love depending upon each other to make the music that moves our community.
