Showcase Concert 2025
The Treasure Valley Concert Band and Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale are pleased to present an evening of favorite selections.
Our program explores the pulse and movement of existence, from work and play to nature and the spirit of freedom. We explore the power of movement—whether literal (i.e., superhero strength, cultivating the land, musical pulse) or metaphorical (i.e., freedom, journeys, passing through trials). The BPMC and TVCB join forces to perform inspirational works about the power of freedom and the American spirit including Copland’s Promise of Living, a stunning arrangement of America the Beautiful, Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever, and John Williams’ music soundtrack from the movie Superman! You will also experience the rhythmic vitality of an African American spiritual, the driving pulse of a Shaker song, the tranquil harmonies of an English “choral dance,” and body percussion in an energetic, Latin-style piece accompanied by four-hand piano.
