KidsFest Theatre Experience at JUMP
5:00 to 5:30: Outside In! Singing for Musical Theatre Led by Rachel Fitchman Ages 4-9. During this super fun vocal workshop, young performers will have an opportunity to be introduced to musical, dramatic, and physical skills of vocal work for musical theatre, using a super fun variety of music from popular Disney musicals!
5:30 to 6:00: Wriggle, Tap and Leap! Led by Stephanie Higgins Ages 4-9 An interative the musical theatre dance class that will intoruduce young participants to integrating the whole body into our storytelling. Explore movement and music to tell stories without words.This fun workshop will introduce young musical theatre enthusiasts to build coordination, flexibility, and stamina while dancing to some favorite tunes from musicals!
6:00 to 6:30: Vocal Technique for Musical Theatre Lead by Rachel Fitchman Ages 9-16. Participants will be introduced to vocal technique for singing in musicals.Learn basic vocal techniques and skills for singing with an emphasis on musical theatre style. Already singing? Come in and learn some techniques that will help improve your technique!
6:30 to 7:00: Musical Theatre Dance for Teens Led by Stephanie Higgins Ages 10-16. Step in and learn a routine from one of our favorite musicals! Instruction will include important foundation steps for musical theatre choreography as you learn to move to a fully choreographed showpiece!
7:00 to 7:30: Imagine This!: Playwriting for Children Led by Annie Castiel Beloved children’s books serve as launching pads for our dramatic adventures. We’ll work together to create new characters, dramatic situations, and exciting opportunities for creative and heroic problem solving.
7:30 to 8:00: Creating Character: Children Led by Annie Castiel Boldly go where no kid has gone before. The world is in trouble and it’s up to you to defend it! Create an original play based on superheroes and princesses! Work together as a team to develop the story, setting, characters, and dialogue.
8:00 to 8:30: Wizard of Oz Readers Theatre Led by Molly Cerda-Castiel and Savannah Majors All ages, Join Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion, Glinda, the Wicked Witch and the Wizard as they take you on a 30 minute journey through Oz during our Readers Theatre!
8:30 to 9:00: Theatrical Improvisation Games for Teens Led by Beth Sheber Join us in our final workshop event of the evening! We will lead our group in a fun improve game that is designed to help aspiring and experienced actors alike! Through improvisational acting, we will help you learn how to think quickly on your feet while sharpening your wit! No props or equipment needed, just plenty of imagination and a willingness to jump in with both feet courageously!
