A music celebration event with different stations sponsored by the Treasure Valley Let’s Play Music teachers. There will be instruments to play, songs to write, and lots of puppet shows.

Let’s Play Music is a fun three-year music theory and piano course for your child which begins at age 4-6. We take full advantage ohttps://boisemusicweek.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=4916&action=edit#f the brain’s ability to absorb musical concepts and teach skills in an age appropriate way. Solfege hand signs, folk songs, games, imagination and creativity are important components of each lesson.

Sound Beginnings

Target age: Babies and toddlers and their caregivers, with all ages invited
Music for the very youngest! The Treasure Valley Sound Beginnings teachers will sponsor a fun day of music activities for babies and toddlers. Get ready for fun with nursery rhymes, instrument play, and movement

Sound Beginnings is a family music class for children ages 0-4 and a parent or caregiver. By providing a solid music and preschool foundation, Sound Beginnings prepares students for success in Let’s Play Music and Kindergarten. Classes include singing, movement, instrument play, nursery rhymes, games, stories, and ear training activities.

An open-house style event with booths sponsored by the Boise Public Library Children’s Librarians. There will be music games, music crafts, instrument making, dancing, prizes, and a lot of music.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales Experience with an Into the Woods Sneak Peek

Thursday, May 7 at 4pm

Target age: Families
This year’s Boise Music Week Musical is “Into the Woods,” a mashup on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack and the Beanstalk, tied together with an original tale and some amazing music. We will explore these Grimm’s Fairy Tales and get a sneak peek of some of the “Into the Woods” performances from the Boise Music Week actors.

Music Adventures with Paige Moore, My Many Colored Days

Friday, May 8, 10:30am-Noon

Target age: All ages and their caregivers
In every Adventure with Paige Moore, classical music and fun reign. In “My Many Colored Days,” we explore Dr. Seuss’s classic book on colors and emotions. We explore the colors with music and movement including hopping, kicking, bubbles, and parachute.
